Coo coo ca choo, Mrs. Robinson. Benjamin Braddock has just graduated, but he doesn't feel a sense of accomplishment or identity: he's drowning in aimlessness and looking for something to grab onto. And what better to grab onto than a seductress twice your age?
Actually, Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft were only six years apart in age, which may explain why they both picked up Oscar nominations, together with the producer, cinematographer, writers, and co-star Katharine Ross. Director Mike Nichols even got to take his Oscar home. Are you trying to seduce me, Mrs. Robinson? --SD |
